Playing With Materials

I always enjoy seeing people's reactions to the materials I use in my work and offer during these sessions. The "old style" perforated computer paper allows for an elongated horizontal composition. By starting with a "free write" made in pencil we are gifted with the starting marks on the paper. Oil pastels, water color and acrylic paint are used to embellish and cover up the text. Collage using fabric and textiles, the "transfer" process using images from magazines as well as gold, silver and copper leaf are often incorporated.
